Made in the Netherlands - The distinctive design of the Delta S is the result of a unique automated frame production process, developed by Mokumono. The innovative production process allows us to produce in the Netherlands.
They show that bicycle frame production in Europe is still possible and that is something they are very proud of.
How it works
Never ridden a single-speed electric bike before, and need a quick explainer on how it works?
Well, first things first: it’s not a motorbike. Don’t expect to coast along, not pedalling at all — the motor requires some effort from the rider to engage.
Basically, e-bike drive systems are designed to provide assistance relative to current conditions; that is, they react to resistance (whether it’s from rider weight, effort, wind direction, weather conditions, etc.) and output assistance (power) accordingly.
Of course, the main form of resistance on a bicycle is gravity, i.e. hills. Unlike on a non-electric single speed bike — when a rider will have to put out massive amounts of power to maintain speed and cadence as the road increases in gradient — on an e-bike, the internal motor will provide powerful forward thrust, allowing rider effort to remain largely the same.
While your speed might drop — don’t expect to be dancing up the hills à la Contador, with or without a motor! — the assistance provided will mean you can maintain a steady power output and arrive at your destination relatively sweat-free.
Just make sure to keep that battery charged.
