SRAM Force 22 Rear Derailleur
Adopting all the technologies that provide the fastest, quietest shifting available, the new SRAM Force 22 Rear Derailleur has been designed with our Exact Actuation technology for precise, efficient shifting throughout the extended gear range.

SRAM have given and even refining tooth geometry of the jockey wheel. The result is that the chain that runs smoother and quieter than ever before. With all the additional technologies we’ve managed to keep the weight the same, at well under 200 grams.

SRAM Force 22 Yaw Front Derailleur

It’s the front derailleur that changed everything, now with SRAM Force 22, giving riders the freedom to shift with incredible speed into either chainring, with no trim and no chain rasp.

The Yaw rotating front derailleur cage was just one more elegant solution to a problem that plagued drivetrains for decades. Instead of multiple shifts using trim, with confusing microshifts,

the SRAM Force 22 Yaw Front Derailleur actually rotates to maintain a consistent angular relationship with the chain. As a result, shifts feel more direct, more precise, system that works as one with the chain, cransket and chainrings.

SRAM Force 22 Mechanical Front and Rear Shifter

The SRAM Force 22 Mechanical Front and Rear Shifter is modeled after the best in class comfort of SRAM Red.

Everything received the same detail, including the transition between handlebar and hoods, the grip texture, finger wrap, and the separate interfaces with both the shifter and brake lever. The understated black finish makes it look fast and is a perfect match for any machine.

SRAM Force Dual Pivot Brake Set

The new SRAM Force Brakeset was designed with light weight, performance, and streamlined aesthetics as our guiding principles.

Featuring Dual Pivot performance and a proprietary pad compound, the SRAM Force Brakeset delivers high power with low weight. Intelligent engineering combines cold-forged arms, stainless steel main pivot bolts, and a powerful return spring for positive engagement and release.

SRAM PG-1170 Cassette

The SRAM PG-1170 Cassette offers gearing options needed for challenging climbs, fast descents, sprints, and everything in between.

SRAM PC-1170 Chain

The newest narrower SRAM PC 1170 chain features more heavily chamfered outer plates for improved shifting and quieter running. The chrome hardened pin construction provides longer chain life.
SRAM Force 22 Crankset

The new SRAM Force 22 Crankset delivers an upgrade in performance by utilizing unidirectional carbon in the crank arm matched to a forged alloy spider.

And, like Red, the hidden bolt pattern makes better use of carbon fiber to further improve stiffness and shed weight. The stunning X-GlideR chainrings are optimized for use with the Yaw Technology in the front derailleur, delivering seamless, flawless performance. It comes in fullsize and compact ratios and in multiple crank arm lengths.

Technologies

SRAM Force 22 Rear Derailleur

AeroGlide Pulleys - New tooth pulley design with a sound damping effect for a super efficient and silent ride experience. Bottom and top pulleys benefit from this feature.

Exact Actuation - When we launched our road technology from scratch we reapplied our MTB proven SRAM 1:1 actuation ratio (shifter cable travel : derailleur movement) for 10 speed rear shifting. EA helps to simplify/stabilize the uneasy act of balancing rear derailleur hanger design, tight cog spacing and exact cable tension. The result: the easiest index shifting system to set up and it stays that way.

WiFLi - SRAM's WiFLi technology accommodates a wider range of gears than a standard short-cage road derailleur. Compared to a triple chainring setup, it provides faster shifts and significant weight savings.

SRAM Force 22 Yaw Front Derailleur

Yaw - The front derailleur cage rotates to maintain a consistent angular relationship with the chain. Yaw technology eliminates the need for shifter trim. As a result, shifts feel more direct, more precise, and combined with the new red crankset and chainrings, delivers an unmatched performance advantage in front shifting

SRAM Force 22 Mechanical Front and Rear Shifter

DoubleTap - DoubleTap makes changing gears easier and faster, eliminating the cumbersome and awkward engagement associated with two-lever systems. DoubleTap handles up- and downshifts in one short, sweeping motion, with minimal effort and maximum comfort no matter where you are on the bars.

DoubleTap uses two pawls, one for holding the ratchet wheel, and one for transporting it up and down through the gear change. The pawls are arranged in a way so that they can leapfrog each other depending on how far, and with how much pressure, you push the shift lever.

With short, rapid taps the transport pawl (04) moves the ratchet wheel (02) up through the shifting range. Downshifting comes via a longer sweep of the lever (in the same inward direction you upshift, but to an ergonomically maximized 15° angle) with the holding pawl (03) and the transport pawl leapfrogging each other quickly and smoothly.

Location, Location, Location: DoubleTap’s one-motion unidirectional levers (05) work flawlessly no matter what position you’re shifting from. Its double-articulated design (01), which is completely separate from the brake pivot, is easily engaged from the hoods or the drops.

Unlike all other forward controls, DoubleTap also lets you pull the shift lever in against the bars so you can upshift while sprinting or attacking without giving up a firm grip. On DoubleTap controls, the brake and shift levers are completely independent, each operating with their own pivot points. This not only allows for the multiposition functionality, it also eliminates the risk of engaging brakes or shifters unintentionally—an unfortunate side effect of other shift/brake lever designs.

ErgoDynamics - Longer brake levers, independent reach adjust for the brake and shift levers, and optimized hood shape give riders of any size comfort and easy access to the controls.

Yaw - The front derailleur cage rotates to maintain a consistent angular relationship with the chain. Yaw technology eliminates the need for shifter trim. As a result, shifts feel more direct, more precise, and combined with the new Red crankset and chainrings, delivers an unmatched performance advantage in front shifting.

ZeroLoss - ZeroLoss simply means, well, zero loss—when you push on the lever, for an upshift or down shift, the cable is engaged instantly—zero loss of movement. There is no middle-ground where you're waiting for the shift to come. Gear changes are instant and precise.

SRAM PG-1170 Cassette

WiFLi - SRAM's WiFLi technology accommodates a wider range of gears than a standard short-cage road derailleur. Compared to a triple chainring setup, it provides faster shifts and significant weight savings.

SRAM PC-1170 Chain

PowerLock - SRAM chain engineers developed PowerLock as a tool free, sure, and consistent way to connect our chains. While PowerLock® does not require special tools for install, the especially tight tolerances of 10-, 11- and 12-speed drivetrains mandate that each PowerLock® is good for a one-time application only.
SRAM Force 22 Crankset
X-GlideR Chainrings - The chainrings are designed for an optimized shifting performance with the Yaw front derailleur. The stiffer rings (5mm 7075-T6 aluminum CNC-machined) feature upshift rivets with an advanced design adopted from SRAM XX. CNC machining allows for precision control of each tooth shape, ramp, and nearly every shifting feature of the chainring. Chainrings, chain, and front derailleur are designed as a single integrated system for optimized performance.
