SRAM Rival 1 Rear Derailleur

The SRAM Rival 1 X-Horizon rear derailleur is engineered for smooth, reliable shifting action—from the larger upper pulley offset to the 12-tooth X-Sync pulley wheels.

By eliminating unwanted chain movement, X-Horizon shifts faster, puts an end to ghost shifting and reduces shift force and chain slap. And with Cage Lock technology, wheel removal and installation are easier than ever.

SRAM Rival 22 HRD Shift-Brake Control w/Flatmount Caliper

Rival 22 HRD shift-brake levers combine all the great performance of mechanical 11-speed with the performance of a hydraulic disc braking system.

With SRAM's trademark Reach Adjust as well as improved ergonomics for better finger wrap, their HydroR controls are the touch point for better braking. SRAM's hydraulic brakes deliver more braking force with less hand effort and better modulation.

SRAM Rival 1 Crankset

The SRAM Rival 1 crankset delivers consistent performance every time out.

Featuring SRAM’s X-Sync tooth profile, the Rival 1 crankset is engineered for complete chain control. Each tooth’s thickness is CNC-machined to work seamlessly with the chain’s inner and outer links. And with seven available chainrings, you can personalize your gear range to match the way you ride.

Technologies

SRAM Rival 1 Rear Derailleur
Cage Lock - With Cage Lock technology in the rear derailleur, wheel removal and installation—as well as chain installation—becomes faster and simpler. Just pushing the cage forward to create slack and lock it into place.

Exact Actuation - Exact Actuation helps to simplify/stabilize the uneasy act of balancing rear derailleur hanger design, tight cog spacing and exact cable tension. The result: the easiest index shifting system to set up and it stays that way.

Roller Bearing Clutch - Roller Bearing Clutch rear derailleurs deliver maximum drivetrain stability—even through the most punishing terrain. With Roller Bearing Clutch technology, derailleur bounce and chain slap are eliminated without sacrificing precision.

X-Horizon - The X-Horizon rear derailleur’s ‘straight parallelogram’ design limits all movement to the horizontal axis, which makes ghost shifting impossible while also reducing shift force. For quicker, more exact shifting, the large upper pulley offset design maintains a constant chain gap across all gears.

X-Sync - SRAM X-Sync 1x chain rings provide the highest level of performance and durability. The SRAM X-Sync tall square teeth edges engage the chain earlier than traditional triangle shaped teeth. The sharp and narrow tooth profile, as well as rounded chamfer edges, help manage a deflected chain. To provide the best possible performance in muddy conditions, the X-Sync chain rings have been designed with mud-clearing recesses for the inner chain links and rollers. Engineered in Germany, X-Sync rings are an integral part of the SRAM 1x drivetrain.

SRAM Rival 22 HRD Shift-Brake Control w/Flatmount Caliper

Connectamajig - is the coupling hose that makes initial set-up of hydraulic systems easy, fast and convenient. The intimidation of hydraulics is gone with a push and a twist; it’s just that easy. Connectamajig allows for several disconnects and reconnects before a system bleed is required.

DOT 5.1 - Heat is an enemy of any brake system, so advancements in heat management mean advancements in your ride. We found that in our systems DOT 5.1 takes almost three times longer to boil than DOT 4, thus allowing flawless, fade-free performance in even more extreme conditions.

DoubleTap -  makes changing gears easier and faster, eliminating the cumbersome and awkward engagement associated with two-lever systems. DoubleTap handles up- and downshifts in one short, sweeping motion, with minimal effort and maximum comfort no matter where you are on the bars.

DoubleTap uses two pawls, one for holding the ratchet wheel, and one for transporting it up and down through the gear change. The pawls are arranged in a way so that they can leapfrog each other depending on how far, and with how much pressure, you push the shift lever.

With short, rapid taps the transport pawl moves the ratchet wheel up through the shifting range. Downshifting comes via a longer sweep of the lever (in the same inward direction you upshift, but to an ergonomically maximized 15° angle) with the holding pawl and the transport pawl leapfrogging each other quickly and smoothly.

Location, Location, Location: DoubleTap’s one-motion unidirectional levers work flawlessly no matter what position you’re shifting from. Its double-articulated design (01), which is completely separate from the brake pivot, is easily engaged from the hoods or the drops.

Unlike all other forward controls, DoubleTap also lets you pull the shift lever in against the bars so you can upshift while sprinting or attacking without giving up a firm grip. On DoubleTap controls, the brake and shift levers are completely independent, each operating with their own pivot points. This not only allows for the multiposition functionality, it also eliminates the risk of engaging brakes or shifters unintentionally—an unfortunate side effect of other shift/brake lever designs.

Reach Adjust - Brake lever fit and feel is a personal thing. Riders have individual positioning preferences, as well as unique hand sizes and finger lengths. Reach Adjust makes it easy to adjust your lever for maximum one-finger control for everyone.

Yaw - The front derailleur cage rotates to maintain a consistent angular relationship with the chain. Yaw technology eliminates the need for shifter trim. As a result, shifts feel more direct, more precise, and combined with the new Red crankset and chainrings, delivers an unmatched performance advantage in front shifting.

ZeroLoss - simply means, well, zero loss—when you push on the lever, for an upshift or down shift, the cable is engaged instantly—zero loss of movement. There is no middle-ground where you're waiting for the shift to come. Gear changes are instant and precise.

SRAM Rival 1 Crankset

BB30 Besides serious weight savings, this bottom bracket means narrow Q-factor, more ankle clearance, greater bearing durability and stronger crank construction.

GXP - GXP’s Gutter Seal design cuts friction and weight—improving both feel and performance.

PressFit - A variant of the external GXP bottom bracket, PressFit cuts weight by up to 40 grams and eases installation by allowing you to press the bearing cups into the frame instead of threading them. It requires no change to the crank spindle length and diameter.

Pressfit 30 - This is a new design led by SRAM. It’s all the best from BB30 and Press-Fit bottom brackets in one captivating package. This bottom bracket is designed for 30mm spindle cranksets. The key difference with PressFit 30 is how the bearings are fitted into the frame. Bearings are housed in nylon cups which will be pressed into the frames bottom bracket shell. PressFit 30 will feature an integrated seal, pre-assembled into the cups, to further prolong bearing life. Frames will need a 46mm inner-diameter bottom bracket shell to accommodate this system. PressFit 30 for road will require a 68mm wide shell while PressFit 30 for MTB will require a 73mm wide shell. Advantages: Huge weight savings, narrow Q-factor, more ankle clearance, greater bearing durability, stiffer/stronger crank construction, simple installation. Allows for larger diameter frame tubes increasing frame stiffness. Drawbacks: Still searching.

SRAM PG-1130 Cassette

Jet - With durable Jet black finish, the cassette looks as tough as it performs - ride after ride. Jet finish provides a higher level of corrosion resistance.

SRAM PC-1130 Chain

PowerLock - SRAM chain engineers developed PowerLock as a tool free, sure, and consistent way to connect our chains. While PowerLock does not require special tools for install, the especially tight tolerances of 10-, 11- and 12-speed drivetrains mandate that each PowerLock is good for a one-time application only.

SRAM Rival 1 HRD Brake Control w/Directmount Caliper

Connectamajig - Connectamajig is the coupling hose that makes initial set-up of hydraulic systems easy, fast and convenient. The intimidation of hydraulics is gone with a push and a twist; it’s just that easy. Connectamajig allows for several disconnects and reconnects before a system bleed is required.

With short, rapid taps the transport pawl (04) moves the ratchet wheel (02) up through the shifting range. Downshifting comes via a longer sweep of the lever (in the same inward direction you upshift, but to an ergonomically maximized 15° angle) with the holding pawl (03) and the transport pawl leapfrogging each other quickly and smoothly.

Location, Location, Location: DoubleTap’s one-motion unidirectional levers (05) work flawlessly no matter what position you’re shifting from.

ErgoDynamics - Longer brake levers, independent reach adjust for the brake and shift levers, and optimized hood shape give riders of any size comfort and easy access to the controls.

Exact Actuation - When we launched our road technology from scratch we reapplied our MTB proven SRAM 1:1 actuation ratio (shifter cable travel : derailleur movement) for 10 speed rear shifting. EA helps to simplify/stabilize the uneasy act of balancing rear derailleur hanger design, tight cog spacing and exact cable tension. The result: the easiest index shifting system to set up and it stays that way.

Reach Adjust - Brake lever fit and feel is a personal thing. Riders have individual positioning preferences, as well as unique hand sizes and finger lengths. Reach Adjust makes it easy to adjust your lever for maximum one-finger control for everyone.

SRAM Rival 1 & Zipp Tangente Speed "Best Cycling Components 2015/16"

SRAM Rival 1:

"SRAM's Rival 1 groupset offers shifting simplicity, a usable range of gears, powerful disc brakes and secure chain retention. It has no direct rival from Shimano or Campagnolo, although home-brewed single-ring drivetrains have been popular in some areas of cycling for a few years now, but SRAM brings plenty of technology to the table that makes it easy to ditch the front mech and go 1x11. It's not for everyone, but there are many cyclists and applications that this new groupset would be ideal for.”

Zipp Tangente Speed 25mm:

"Zipp doesn’t just makes wheels, it also produces tyres. It updated its offerings in 2015 and the Tangente Speed, a race-day tyres with 25mm version weighing just 196g, providing a very responsive and fast rolling performance, ideal for racing and Sunday best bikes." View Article

SRAM Rival 1 HRD "I can truly recommend it to anyone..."

Greg Radziwonowski (Bike/Tour, Poland) has tested our SRAM Rival 1 HRD groupset over 1,000km and under tough conditions. Greg who rides 1x and Disc brakes on his MTB bikes for many years, loves 1x and Disc brakes for road and off road applications.

“My Trek Crockett went through snow, mud, rain and over dry roads. It was showered with pressure washer, like after local cx race. When I think about those 1000km in such severe conditions, I am surprised it didn't fail, not even once. I've never dropped a chain.” View Article

SRAM Force 1 | Review | Feed The Habit

"Amazing. That’s the only way to describe how well the X-Sync chainring and X-Horizon rear derailleur work. The combination of the two keeps the chain taut — even when barreling through a roughshod cyclocross course. Not even so much as a single bit of chainslap can be heard." View Article
