At just 1,805g the 808 Track wheelset is tuned for speed with their pro-proven 82mm Firecrest rim shape for superior aerodynamics, stiffness and stability. But they didn’t stop their innovations at the rim.

At the heart of this wheelset is their 333 track hubset. Designed from the ground up for the rigors of track racing, this impressively light weight hubset combines with Sapim CX-Ray spokes (20 front, 24 rear), Sapim secure-lock nipples, and their 808 Firecrest rim to deliver unparalleled stiffness to satisfy even the most powerful track racers. Oversized hub bearings and axles work together to produce a wheelset with superior load carrying capacity and bombproof reliability. The 333 hubshell also incorporates industry leading aerodynamics and asymmetrical hub flanges on the rear hub for balanced spoke tension, immediate acceleration and flawless tracking through turns.

Technologies

Firecrest - With the new proprietary Firecrest rim shape in their 202, 303, 404 and 808 Firecrest wheels, Zipp wheels make a bigger difference in more ways than ever. Not only is Firecrest more aerodynamic than any other rim design, it improves handling in crosswinds and overall ride quality.

ABLC (Aerodynamic Boundary Layer Control) - Advanced Boundary Layer Control (ABLC) refers to the patented and instantly recognizable dimpled pattern found on all of their carbon rims. ABLC smoothes airflow across the rim's surface and is tailored to every model from the 202 to the Super-9 Disc. The third-generation of ABLC has up to four times more dimples than before.

Carbon Bridge - Carbon Bridge uses a Kevlar thread in a co-axial helix stitch to bind sheets of carbon to each other in their tubular rims. Because Kevlar is 350% more impact resistant than carbon, it can disperse shock more evenly throughout the carbon laminate, making for a rim that is practically bulletproof. In particular, Carbon Bridge reduces the vulnerability of the rim's tire bed, the area most susceptible to damage from impact.
