What is Shimano Di2?
Shimano's Di2 (Digital Integrated Intelligence) is a shifting option to Shimano's proven mechanical shifting. Instead of mechanical cables, Di2 is an electronic gear-shifting system that enables riders to execute shifts with electronic switches vs. mechanical shift levers. Through the use of Di2, shifts are fast and precise and customization options are endless. The most important thing to remember is that you, the rider, is always in control of what your system does or can be pre-programmed to do.
Expanded Shimano Synchronized Shift capabilities:
Shimano's innovative Synchro Shift is now available with this DURA-ACE R9150 model. Available as a programmable Di2 option, Synchro Shift creates an intuitive experience on the bike through synchronized front and rear shifting that can be custom programmed by you the rider.
In addition to traditional "Full" Synchro Shift, you can optionally select "Semi" Synchro Shift. This intuitive new mode automatically reacts when the rider shifts from one chainring to another, automatically shifting the rear derailleur to minimize the gear step thus preserving your rhythm.
(Shimano Synchronized Shift is also available for all previous 11-speed Di2 road component groups with the use of new Di2 firmware and accessories).
