Stages SmartBike is designed by the indoor cycling experts with a fitness studio-quality Stages Indoor cycling frame for unsurpassed stability and durability, and a quiet, maintenance-free Gates Carbon belt drive for countless miles of trouble-free indoor riding. The SmartBike can be used as a stand-alone bike with no additional applications or devices needed, or you can connect devices and applications that use Bluetooth or ANT to control resistance. SmartBike has four control modes that give you, the rider, a Real Bike Feel. It is optimized for the most popular indoor cycling platforms including Zwift, TrainerRoad, The Sufferfest, Rouvy, Road Grand Tours, FulGaz, Kinomap and others, with ANT and Bluetooth connectivity for all control modes. Equipped with several control modes for use with 3rd party apps, with your Stages Dash GPS Cycling computer or stand alone. Two USB charging ports keep your devices juiced up during your ride, and an integrated adjustable tablet holder makes it easy to see the action.

At the heart of the Stages SmartBike is a smooth, silent electronic resistance unit providing up to 3000 watts of stunningly realistic road feel right down to each electronic gear change. An oversized flywheel makes climbing, acceleration, and coasting feel spot on. Standard road bars and saddle included which can be swapped for your personal favourites, including aero bars. With micro-adjust saddle fore/aft adjustment and handlebar reach/stack with laser-etched sizing scales, adjustable brake hoods and crank arm settings ranging from 165mm to 175mm, you can tune the SmartBike to precisely replicate the fit and feel of your favourite bike and get the most out of your indoor ride.

Precision Power Measurement
Stages SmartBike brake hoods incorporate electronic shift buttons and separate 'sprint' buttons. You can customize the function of each button and choose between several virtual drivetrains simulating a variety of popular bike setups. With functional brake levers and steering buttons, the SmartBike is ready for the evolution of indoor cycling.

Simulation Mode
Simulation mode is one of the modes a connected application/device can enable on the Stages SmartBike. A connected application such as Zwift, RGT, Rouvy or others can send variables that result in a realistic outdoor riding feel that calculates:

. Gradient
. Windspeed
. Rolling resistance
. Drafting

You can press the configurable shift buttons to change virtual gears in response to App-controlled simulated riding conditions.

ERG Mode
Target power, or ERG mode, is another mode a connected application or device can use to control resistance on the Stages SmartBike. Target power mode controllers send a wattage value that the SmartBike will attempt to maintain as users pedal. The shifter buttons do nothing in this mode, as the resistance depends entirely on cadence and the controller target power value. This helps ensure you perform the workout effort as prescribed. The SmartBike is optimized for the most popular indoor cycling platforms including Zwift, TrainerRoad, The Sufferfest, Rouvy, Road Grand Tours, FulGaz, Kinomap and others.

Level Mode
Level mode is the third mode a connected Bluetooth or ANT+ device (such as a Stages Dash GPS computer) can use to control resistance on the Stages SmartBike. Level mode is an arbitrary way to control resistance, meaning the device connected to the SmartBike can ask for the full range of resistance available. The SmartBike replies with its capabilities, and the controller breaks up the range into equal steps, allowing you to control resistance like a simple resistance knob or dial. The number of levels is up to the controller, as it can define one level or many depending on the preference of the device used to control the SmartBike. It will produce the least amount of resistance when level is lowest, and 100% resistance when the level is max.

Manual Mode
Manual mode is enabled any time there is no external controller sending commands to the SmartBike. Specifically:

. When you power on the SmartBike
. 15 minutes of inactivity

Manual mode allows you to change gears using the shift buttons (or use the brake levers) to create resistance during your ride. Manual mode uses a version of Simulation mode however the gradient is at a constant 2% at all times. Gear changes and RPM changes will vary resistance.
